安达充（川名浩介暂无内容饰）是一个正在读高三的学生，他学习优秀，容貌清秀，不过因性格内向鲜少朋友。充的心中藏着不为人知的秘密，他深深爱恋着自己的级任老师堀田纪子（大竹一重暂无内容饰）。这份感情无法自已，他甚至经常打去匿名电话向老师表达爱意。然而纪子对这样的骚扰不胜其烦，此外她早已和同校的体育老师森本（冲田浩之暂无内容饰）相爱，情深意笃。目睹了纪子与森本约会并欢爱的场景，充心中倍感痛苦。另一方面，暗恋充的同班女孩矢崎由美（泽木麻美暂无内容饰）与好友们打赌，设计引诱森本。此举令森本和纪子的关系出现裂痕，而充则借此走入梦中情人的心房。一段充满哀伤气息的禁忌之恋由此展开……

But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
